1961 Chateau Brane – Cantenac, Margaux 2ème Grand Cru Classé 1

1961 Vintage

The 1961 Chateau Brane – Cantenac is extremely fragrant and floral on the nose, having notes of roses, tea, old leather jacket, earth and spices with an amazing taste that is harmonious and decadent.

Tasting notes

Neal Martin, Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate: “…nose distinctly leathery with a touch of moist earth and cloves. The palate is subtle, quite fresh with vibrant acidity. It has a mature hue. The nose is utterly compelling with black fruits, Earl Grey, peppermint and violets with wonderful delineation and lift. The palate is divine: succinct balance and poise, touches of tea leaf and bay leaf inflecting the finish that has great depth and such fine tannins that blind, I would suspect this to be Château Margaux.”(4/2010)
